Today we celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival which is also known as rakhi. This is a festival for siblings or all brothers and sisters to celebrate the bond of love among them.
On this day, sister prepares a decorated plate (thali) with rakhi, sweets, and other items. She ties a thread (rakhi) on the right wrist of her brother and prays for the well-being and happiness of her brother. Brother usually gives a gift to the sister and vows to protect his sister throughout his life.
This is a heart warming festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. It is celebrated on the last day of Shravan season.
Even when you are living far away from your siblings and cousins, you celebrate this day and pray for their good health and a happy life.
