April is National Poetry Month

National Poetry Month is celebrated each year in the month of April. This was first introduced by the Academy of American Poets in 1996 to spread awareness among people about poetry in the Unites States.

I got to know about the National Poetry Month by Libby app that I have with my public library.

Click on the link, www.poets.org.

Since this is the National Poetry, I have been reading poetry books this month.

Poetry Books

My poetry books that I am reading this month are as follows:

1. The Asking by Jane Hinshfield

2. Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou

3. Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson

4. When You Ask Me Where I’m Going by Jasmin Kaur

Are you reading something poetic today?
