I love tomatoes 🍅. I can eat them raw or cooked. Tomato soups are my favorite.
Tomato puree is the main ingredients in the Indian curries. I cannot imagine a vegetable curry without tomatoes in it.
There is always a confusion whether tomatoes are fruits or vegetables.
Tomatoes are A Fruit
They belong to the berry family where all parts of a fruit is edible as eggplants. To consider any plant part is a fruit, it should have seeds in it. Fruits develop from a flower. Since, tomatoes develop from flowers, they are considered a fruit and not a vegetable.
April 6 is celebrated as National Fresh Tomato Day and this post is dedicated to my loving tomatoes.
