Love For Dandelion

Spring has arrived in Texas. Trees are getting greener everyday and dandelions growing in my backyard.

Dandelions make me so happy. I know they are weeds and grow every where still I love them.

April, 05 is celebrated as National Dandelion Day in the US every year.

The scientific name of Dandelion is Taraxacum officinale. Dandelion is also known by several names such as puffball, blowball, lion’s tooth, and monk’s head.

Dandelions are edible

Dandelions are edible plants. The entire plant is edible from leaves to roots to stems and flowers. They can be eaten raw or cooked. You might have heard about dandelion tea.

Dandelion tea is made of both dandelion roots and leaves. They have several health benefits. It aid’s digestion and improves liver and kidney function.
