Peace: The Magical Word

PEACE.

I don’t know what is so magical about this word. Do you feel the same?

Hearing it, calms the body, mind, and soul. We often hear, may love and peace prevail. What else you want in life?

Love and peace are you bough for our body and soul.

Have you ever thought of, how beautiful this place would have been if there was peace all over?

How our lives would have been if we had peace of mind?

Certainly a blissful life. A peaceful life is bliss which is certainly not close to what we have in this modern world.

When I was in school, I heard a story about how God created the world. How God created everything on this earth, every small creature, and at last, He created Man and Woman. He was very proud of his creations and gave every little thing to the Man and Woman so that they will remember Him later in their lives.

But then a thought pondered in His heart. Why would Man and Woman remember Him when He has already given everything to them? Why not keep them devoid of something so that they will always come to Him to ask for that particular one thing?

It was a wise idea. So, what was that most important thing in the life of the finest creature? God thought for a while. It was nothing else but peace. If God takes out peace from the lives of Man and Woman, certainly their life will not be that happy and they will come back to Him and pray to Him.

In this way, God kept our lives devoid of peace, which is the essence of life.

Blessed are those who have peace in their lives.

Please Note: I remember only the story, not the title and the author. I even don’t remember whether it was a story or a poem. So please forgive me, I can’t provide the original work here. I tried to find it on the internet but couldn’t come across it.

So, the main idea of this post is to highlight the importance of peace in our lives. A life devoid of peace is stressful. In Hindi, we say “Om Shanti Shanti Shanti”. Shanti is the Hindi or Sanskrit word for Peace. In our culture, Hinduism peace is given utmost importance. In every prayer, we have a Peace Prayer as well and this peace is not for an individual but for the whole world.

We pray that may peace prevail in the entire world. Because that is the main idea behind prayer. We pray for everyone, every little creature on this earth. This is called “Shanti Path for Universal Peace” or “Peace Mantra for Universal Peace”.
