Hello everyone,
I am here with my reading journey blog post. I like sharing my latest reads with you all and if you are a reader like me then this post can also work as a book recommendation.
In the last month, I literally slowed down my reading activity in order to fill in my reading journal and relax a bit. Reading is also relaxing for me but sometimes you need a break and I enjoyed my little break in Aril 2024.
In the USA, April is a national poetry month therefore I read three poetry books as well.
As of now, I have read 27 books and it’s May. I have to read three books more to reach my reading goal for this year. I know I will surpass my reading goal this year.
Books I Read in April 2024
Last month, I read 4 books. 3 books where a collection of poetry while one was a novel.
1. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
This is a light-hearted story of a man called Ove and his life. I have watched the movie as well. The story in the book is little bit different from the movie, the place and some other details. Otherwise, the theme and the storyline is same.
This books is easy to read and understand. The story is engaging as well.
2. Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson
This book is a non-fiction written in form of verses. In this book, the author has shared her entire childhood and struggles as a black family.
3. When You Ask Me Where I’m Going by Jasmin Kaur
This book is again a poetry book that depicts the struggle of an Asian immigrant in Canada. It’s a book filled with emotions and courage.
4. Letter To My Daughter by Maya Angelou
I still not understand why this book was listed under poetry books because it’s a book filled with essays that the author wants to share with her daughters. It’s a non-fiction book that pours light on the life of the author.
These were the four books that I read in April 2024. Out of these 2 books are physical, 1 book is an audiobook, while the other one is an ebook.
