Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello All,

Yippeee!! again an award nomination. I am so glad to share with all of you that I have been again nominated for “Sunshine Blogger Award”. This award is special to me because my first blogger award was also “Sunshine Blogger Award”.

Here are the Rules of the award:

• Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.
• Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.
• Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.

Not just because it is the rule no. 1 to thank the person who nominated me for this award, but I sincerely want to thank Ranjini Madhavan for this nomination. I am glad, I found her on WordPress, visited her blog and followed her. We are not just fellow bloggers now, we have turned into friends who share their feelings through commenting on each others blog posts.

I am also happy to share her blog with you all, https://httpranjustraveldiaries.travel.blog/. Her blog is special. Her blog is full of detailed explanation of her temple visits all across India. When I say her blog is special, I truly mean it because what she delivers through her blog, I don’t do and I haven’t seen many of us doing. She is trying to keep the heritage and Indian culture alive in her small way, indeed through her blog posts. Please do visit her blog for more details and you will know that I was not exaggerating.

Questions and Answers

Why do you blog?
I blog because I like sharing my opinion and thoughts with others. I have always been outspoken and shy at the same time. By this I mean that, when I am close to someone I share almost every thing with her or him and if I don’t know you, I am just a stranger to you. When it comes to sharing my thoughts, I have my opinions on various things and I like to share them with others. So, blogging didn’t come to me by chance, but I planned it, and researched about it. Thus, here I am.

What makes a book good?
A good book is a book that has amazing and thoughtful content in it that is well written and well explained. If it is a non-fiction book like an educational book, it should be error free and explanatory. It should have all the information regarding that subject appropriate for that level. If the book is a fiction book, then it should have a strong story line and it should be interesting to the reader.

Whatever your blog is about, when and why did you get interested in that topic?
When I started to blog, my main motto was to educate people into biological science because I thought that this was what I can write about and it is what I am good at. Then after blogging for few months, I tried writing in different genre and found that I can write my thoughts well too. So, I started writing on inspirational messages and motivation. I also have a bad habit of exploring too many things at a time so you will find some posts on coloring, doodling, zentangles, etc too. I also read books and recently completed 12th book this year, so I also review books in my blog.

If you had to choose one of the blog posts you’re nominating that is your single favorite.
It’s really hard to do this, but since you are asking I would like to list one: What is a Home? What is a house? This is my all time favorite blog post and close to my heart.

What “genre(s)” of your niche do you like best? For example, for a cooking blog — desserts, meat, soups, etc. or for a writing blog (this one’s kind of obvious) — fantasy, short stories, horror, poetry, etc.
Since, I don’t do niche blogging, I am free to choose any genre and that is what I like the best about blogging. So, I can’t choose one genre, I like to write about many things. I am comfortable in writing about biological science because that is my career and my passion but I also like to write about me personal thoughts and hobbies that might interest and inspire others.

Where do you get inspiration for your hobbies/interests/talents?
These day WordPress is my only source of inspiration. My interest in reading other bloggers post has increased a lot and I like reading blog posts and commenting. As far as hobbies are concerned, I have too many of them. I have a zeal to learn many things and explore many things. I feel one life is not enough to learn every thing.

Besides whatever your blog is about, what is your hobby/interest/talent?
Besides blogging, I like to read books (English and Hindi), playing Farmville, and eating my husband’s head (joking!!). What interests me, is everything on my blog. I am what my blog is.

Which of your posts has been the most popular? Reflect on this… why, do you think? Do you agree, or are you annoyed by it? Is it really your best work or is it just what seems like would appeal to readers (in your opinion)?
I never took so close look on any particular post of mine so I won’t be able to answer this. Why any blog post reaches popularity is not always related to whether the post was interesting, well written or not. I think the popularity to blog post is due to how many people reached to that post. I may be wrong though, I don’t know.

What motivates you in life? (This is a broad question – answer however you interpret it)
I generally get motivated by someone’s journey through life. It can be anyone. My parents, my friends, my in laws, my husband all motivate me at some point or the other in my life. I feel I am not what I am alone, I am what my parents and my family helped me to be. I owe my life to them.

Is this the first time you’ve gotten one of these awards?
No, this is not the first blogger award that I got but this is certainly the second Sunshine Blogger Award that I received.

Do you ever feel nervous before publishing a blog post?
Yes, I do. I have also experienced that the more nervous I am the more positive response I get from you all.

My nominees for This Award are

As in my previous nominations for blogger awards I experienced that many bloggers do not turn up for the awards (which is absolutely fine) and all my efforts in getting their links and pasting in my post get wasted so I have stopped nominating anyone for Blogger Awards now. Those who seriously want to answer such amazing questions please do comment in below, I will nominate them all.

For my nominations, the questions will remain the same.

Thank you so much for hanging up with me for so long. I will meet you all lovely people in my next blog post. Till then, stay safe and live well.

Spring .

200 Posts: Feeling Awesome

Hello All,

I am so glad to inform you all that, yesterday with my Happy Father’s Day post, I have successfully written 200 posts till date and this one being the 201st post.

Since October 2019, I have been writing on my blog www.penofhearts.com at least 4 posts per week. When I started blogging, I had few subscribers and so my views were also less than what I have today.

So, I was thinking of reviving my old posts at least one repost every week so that my new subscribers and my fellow bloggers can also see and comment on my older posts.

I am also thinking of writing one post everyday from now, if possible. Let’s see whether I am able to do it or not.

For completing by 200 posts, I feel grateful to God and my parents. I feel that I have achieved one more accomplishment as a blogger and as a freelancer.

I feel reading and writing keeps us engaged and we keep learning new things everyday. Penning down our thoughts on paper or as a post, I feel we give voice to our thoughts. We connect with awesome people around us and learn new things from them too.

I would like to say that I am really enjoying writing posts on my blog and I also like reading posts of my fellow bloggers.

What’s more exciting is to read the comments of you all. Your comments are really motivating and encouraging.

Thank you all for being in connection with me by reading, liking and commenting on my blogposts. I really enjoy reading all your comments.

Be A Human First

Ups and downs are parts of life. We know that change is the only constant. People learn to adapt and survive in the change. But I don’t know what is happening in the world this year. So many changes, negativity all around the globe.

Starting with the Pandemic 2020 to the deaths of people all around the world, descrimination on the basis of ethnicity and color, and many more negative news surrounding us, I don’t know what else are we going to witness this year and in the years to come.

Whether it’s a natural catastrophe or any other casualities, who you think is responsible? Humans and only humans…..don’t you think? The masterpiece of the God’s creation has not stood up to the mark of His expectations.

What do you think we are lacking? In my opinion, we are lacking being a HUMAN. First and foremost thing that we lack is “Being a Human”. We need to be a human first before trying to be anything else.

What traits come to your mind when you think about being a human? What differentiates a human from an animal? I feel, I understood it very late. We humans lack many traits that we are supposed to have.

Traits of a Human Being: Here I would like to highlight some of the qualities of a human being. Apart from the physical differences from any other species in the animal kingdom, Homo sapiens are blessed with many inevitable characteristic features.

1. Humans have the mental ability to think, to differentiate betweeen right and wrong, to understand and decide, and to have an opinion.

2. Humans have a way of communication in the form of languages, can read, write and express their feelings to others.

3. Humans have the ability to think, and act according to the situation.

So, basically humans can learn new things, think and act, look for favorable situations, decide and have opinion. We certainly do think and act, learn and decide. But how wisely we think and how wisely we react defines whether we are a good human being or not.

Humans get social, have friends, make connections, show compassion, have emotions, etc yet become insensitive to issues that are not related to them.

In today’s world of social media, do you think twice before sharing any post on any social platform? I think most of us don’t. Many of us share so many usual, unusual things on our social accounts without getting the facts and news verified and it’s like a chain reaction. Once it starts it continues and only a wise person who thinks before sharing, stops a while to think, verifies the news, thinks about the morality of the post and then stops the chain of spreading that news.

I know overthinking is not good but thinking is good. To think is the ability of a human but sometimes we lack this trait. We act without thinking about the repercussions of our act. I experienced this yesterday itself but I am reluctant of sharing that with you all.

Humanity which is derived from a Latin word that means human nature and kindness is what we are lacking in ourselves. We don’t want to or even bother to understand what the other person is saying and we react. We don’t think that how badly the act of mine can affect a person. We have become insensitive to basic human issues. The kindness that we are expected to have is missing in thoughts, acts and opinions.

I just want to conclude this post by saying that we need to be a human first. We need to learn about the traits of humans and treat others as humans too. We need to be respectful to others .

These are my thoughts in all forms. You might agree with it or disagree. I will consider both types of opinions in my comment section. I would request you all to show some kindness to others, spread positivity and stay healthy.

My nominations:

I am not so famous in receiving Blogger Awards. This is my third award till date. In last two award nomination, I saw that some people do not take interest in these awards, and I don’t have any problem with that. You can always ignore as these awards are not compulsory.

It takes time to nominate people for these awards and when they don’t turn up, its a really sad experience. So, this time I thought, I wouldn’t nominate bloggers in the post, rather go personally in the comment section and ask, whether they want to be a part of the nomination or not and then nominate. This is only for those who do comment in the comment section.

Sorry, for breaking the rule, but in my opinion I think this is the best thing to do.

I would like to keep the same questions to the nominees. I hope, you will like my answers. Please let me know in the comment section. Your views are highly appreciated.

Keep Spreading Positivity. We all need it.

Quotations on Environment and Its Importance

Today is the World Environment Day. June 5th is celebrated as World Environment Day since 1974. The motto behind celebrating environment day is to spread awareness among common people, to understand the importance of environment and its diversity, to understand the dependence of humans on the environment, etc.

I have always been talking about environment, plants and pollution on my blog. You can check my previous posts on the how we can be responsible and protect our environment. You can also check my posts on effects of air pollution on plants. There are various posts on my blog where I talk about importance of plants for the betterment of our environment and planet.

In this post I am sharing with you some quotations that inspire us to take care of our environment. These quotations are short but inspiring. In less words, these quotations help us understand the importance of nature and its biodiversity.

I hope we learn at least something from our previous mistakes and react as soon as possible. We still have time to mend our mistakes, be responsible and act wisely to take care of what we have.

Reading a New Book

In this pandemic situation, what options we have been left with than to remain at home and stop the spread of the new Coronavirus? I don’t know whether this situation is going to worsen or get better. I don’t know when everything will come to normal. Yet, I don’t think things are getting normal until May last week.

Libraries are closed. I have finished reading 3 and a half books this month. I have started the last book planned for this month.

I have already read 15 pages from this book, Trust Me When I Lie by Benjamin Stevenson. I am finding this book very interesting, a suspense, thriller, a murder mystery I guess. Let’s see how this book turns up to be.

Thank you for stopping and reading by 🙏🏻🙏🏻.

To-Do-List March 2020

Hello Readers, recently I thought of being organized. It doesn’t mean I am not organized but I thought I need to work on it. Thus, I thought of listing the important things to be organized.

While listing to-do-list, I kept in mind not to procrastinate. Sometimes we think we can do more but when it comes to reality, we realize that only half of the work listed in the to-do list was completed.

So for this month, I have five things to do that are only related to my blogpost and my hobbies that I have developed recently. Things to do in March 2020 are:

1. Writing Posts for My Blog: This is indeed the most important thing of all. I think of writing blogs on weekdays Monday through Friday. Thus, I thought of writing at least 20 posts in a month. I don’t know whether it is too much of writing or too little. What do you think about it? Shall I write more or less?

2. Reading Books: This is also important for me. Reading books give idea about writing new posts and also new thoughts come in mind. Reading books also help in building vocabulary and improving language. I think, everyone should read something new for at least 20 minutes a day. What do you think about reading? Please comment in the comment section below.

3. Completing an Online Course: Last year, I started few online courses to enhance my knowledge in English language Writing and in Clinical Trials. Last month, I completed one online course and dedicatedly working on my second online course. I hope to complete it this month or in the coming month.

4. Doodling: Doodling is a fun and a way to be more creative. If I get time from other work I will try to doodle at least 5 pages in a month. This is my target.

5. Coloring: Coloring adult coloring pages is a way to kept myself happy. I love coloring using color pencils and gel pens. 5 pages in a month will be enough so looking forward to it.

What do you think about my targets. Are they achievable? Have you also planned thins month? Please share your thoughts with me. It will be highly appreciated. Thank you 🙏 for reading.

Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello My Dear Readers,

I am so happy and overwhelmed to share with you all that I have been nominated for the “Sunshine Blogger Award“. When I first made this blog and followed some bloggers at WordPress I came across this “Sunshine Blogger Award”. At that time I wasn’t sure whether anyone will nominate me for this award or not and if some one did, when will that happen. But today, I am so glad to tell you all that VJ. SADHAK a friend of mine at WordPress and a motivational poetry writer has nominated me for this award so soon. I can’t express my feelings in words. Thank you VJ, thank you so much.

VJ writes poetry in Hindi and I feel connected with his poems. His thoughts are touching and you will feel the connection. He is attached to his spiritual roots and values. Since I have got to know about him as a blogger, I read each and every post of his and do comment. I am thankful to him, that he has given me the opportunity to answer few questions of his and to nominate other new fellow bloggers for this award.

My Answers to the Questions:

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
Since my childhood I was fascinated to see the birds especially the sparrows. I found them to be free and independent. Birds can fly high up in the sky. They have a small life but they live freely. SO, I always wanted to be a free bird flying high up in the sky.

2. What was the first ever creative effort that you remember really being proud of?
Whatever I write, I try to put all my efforts to make that writing a creative and interesting one. The first ever creative effort that I remember lately was making a cardboard house for my elder son. I had to put a lot of efforts and time to make that house.

3. If you could choose between true happiness, or a greater creative skills, what would you pick?
Undoubtedly I will choose true happiness. Nothing can be better that happiness. I believe that if we are happy inside out, we can make this world a beautiful place to live. So, if I am happy I might have a great creative skill naturally.

4. Does politics have a place in the arts?
Politics is every where. It is seen in the schools, universities, work places and not only in the making of a government. We always watch cartoons made on political leaders and on government policies and also in criticizing others. So definitely, politics does exist in the arts.

5. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Being mother of two toddlers, sending them to school at time is what makes me out of bed in the morning.

6. Where and how do you do most of your writing?
Most of my writings are done directly on my laptop or ipad. For some posts that are related to science, it takes time for me to write. The posts that are just my thoughts are easier to write I think.

7. What famous work do you wish you had created?
Till now, I don’t think I have created anything that is famous. I wish I would have created some technique to make everyone happy.

8. Is there anyone in the world that you actually hate?
No, I don’t hate anyone.

9. Where is the furthest you have been from home?
I am an Indian residing in the USA, so this is the furthest that I am living from my home.

10. Would you prefer to wake up early, or stay up late?
Frankly speaking, I am a late night person. When I was a student, I used to do late night studies as it was very hard for me to wake up early in the morning. But these days, I have to wake up early in the morning due to my kids. I still prefer staying up late at night.

11. If you could give a new writer who was setting up a blog one piece of advice, what would it be?
I would advice him to be true to his heart and believe in his writing. That’s it.
