Yesterday, when I was teaching my son, I found this motivational poem in his book How the Little Kite Learned to Fly by Katherine Pyle. This poem is worth sharing.
“I never can do it,” the little kite said,
As he looked at the others high over his head;
“I know I should fall if I tried to fly.”
“Try,” said the big kite; “only try!
Or I fear you never will learn at all.”
But the little kite said : “I’m afraid I’ll fall.”
The big kite nodded : “Ah, well, good-bye;
“I am off.” And he rose toward the tranquil sky.
Then the little kite’s paper stirred at the sight.
And trembling he shook himself free for flight.
First whirling and frightened, then braver grown,
Up, up, he rose through the air alone,
Till the big kite looking down could see
The little one rising steadily.
Then how the little kite thrilled with pride,
As he sailed with the big kite side by side.
While far below he could see the ground,
And the boys like small spots moving round.
They rested high in the quiet air,
And only the birds and clouds were there.
“Oh, how happy I am,’.’ the little kite cried;
“And all because I was brave and tried.”
So, what we learn from this little kite? We learned that everything looks impossible to be done, when we do it for the first time. Whatever be the circumstances, we should never stop trying. We might fail several times but one day we will achieve our goal.
Try, try, until you succeed should be the notion. Trying should never be stopped. A person who tries despite failing, is the one who soars high in his life.
Like this little kite, that first thought, it cannot fly but being motivated by the big kite and having the courage to try, it tries to fly and it flies up in the sky, leaving behind its fear to fall. At last the little kite is happy as it was able to combat its fear and flies happily in the sky.

We pray everyday. But why do we pray? Is it important to pray? Who taught us to pray? Who was the first person to pray and what did he/she prayed for? These questions came in my mind today when I was praying today. I always see my parents and elders praying everyday in the morning. It’s like a ritual in my family and in my extended family too to pray everyday.
I also know people who pray even at night before going to bed. I also try to follow this but generally forget. So, again the same question, why do we pray? Not all of us pray. There are people who do not believe in God and do not pray. Their lives their choices.
I pray because I believe in Him. I believe that there is some force, we call it spiritual force, the God who looks after us and takes care of us. In God I believe 🙏🙏.
Why do we Pray?
We pray for various reasons and reasons vary from one person to another. My reasons for prayers might vary with yours. But in general, I think:
1. We pray for internal peace and harmony.
2. We pray for His blessings on us.
3.We pray because we are thankful to Him for whatever we have.
4. We pray to show our gratitude to Him.
5. We pray because we trust Him.
6. We pray because we know He is listening.
Important of Prayer in Hinduism
Prayer is an important part of any religion. Every religion has its own decorum for prayers. Prayers are based on beliefs, the beliefs that humans have in God.
In Hinduism we have many forms of God. A God can be He or She. Prayer plays an important role in this religion too. It’s an integral part of Hindu culture. In Hindi it’s known as “Prarthana”. Our day starts with a morning prayer and ends with an evening prayer. Every festival is associated with one God. Everyday is dedicated to one God. We can pray in a temple or at our homes. So prayers can be collective, in groups or individually.
In Hinduism prayer is a way to show love, affection and faith in God. The God is considered as the Deity or a Guru (teacher).
Prayer connects us to the Almighty. It’s a medium of connection between we the humans and the Creator. I believe that we can connect to God at any time that we want. We can pray whenever we like but we should definitely pray.
We shouldn’t just pray for our well being. We should pray for the well being of each and every creature on this earth. We should pray for everyone.
Let’s keep praying for the world to recover from this pandemic as soon as possible. Let’s pray for the speedy recovery of those who are suffering from the pandemic. Let’s pray for the betterment of everyone of us.
What are the present situation all around the world 🌎? What are we going through everyday? There is chaos all over. COVID-19 has turned our lives upside down. Schools closed, offices closed, gyms closed, library closed, stores closed, normal life ceased.
What was normal five month ago is now a problem. Going out and buying groceries is not normal these days. We can’t go out. It’s like Novel Coronavirus 🦠 is everywhere. It’s in the car, it’s in the stores, it’s on the carts, it’s almost everywhere. Ordering online is also not normal. We don’t know what is carrying the virus 🦠 in it.
Death tolls are increasing around the world 🌍. More and more people are suffering from the virus. We sometimes lose the hope too. We don’t know when will everything be alright. When shall we have the normal days back when people can meet with each other, and overall the virus will be gone.
Still we hope for the best. Hope, hope is what holding us together. Hope is what keeping us brave, hoping everything will be fine soon. Keeping this positive attitude in mind and heart, I am sharing some quotations on hope that might help us in bearing the pain and keep us moving.
Hope is powerful. We are hopeful that this time shall pass too 🙏🙏. This is a crucial time that the whole humanity is facing. We need strength and courage to fight the pandemic.
We still believe, hope and have faith that good days will be back soon. Humanity will win over the virus 🦠. Scientists will be able to find a solution to this problem. We will have the medicines and vaccines to combat the disease.
I wish everyone a hopeful Tuesday. May the sufferings be over. May we win. May we have fearless days and nights. May our minds be relaxed when we go to sleep and wake up in brighter days.
We are in this together. Thank you for stopping by and reading the post 🙏🙏.
The words by John Greenleaf Whittier in the form of a poetry “Don’t Quit” are so apt in our day to day life. Whenever I read these lines, I feel motivated. It’s an inspirational and heart touching poem.
I first saw this poetry when I was doing my Ph.D. in 2015. Those who have done research work or are doing research work know that it’s a work full of commitment, dedication and hard labour for a long period of time. Some days will be full of enthusiasm while the other days will be pathetic. Time will come when you would think, this is not going to happen, I should quit my project, let’s leave it and try something better, etc etc. At that point of time, such good thoughts keeps you going.
One most important thing that I learned during my PhD is “Not to quit” or “To finish the work that you have started”.
“Don’t Quit” is applicable to any work that we do. Quitting should never be an option except for quitting a bad habit.
I hope you would like this post and find it motivating. I wish The poetry “Don’t Quit” by John Greenfield Whittier inspires you too to finish a work that you have started or thinking to start and never quit a work in the middle of it. You never know, a little push might have completed that work.
Do you trust people easily? Do people trust you easily? Are these questions same or different? What is easy: to trust or to be trusted? Whether or not you trust someone or someone trusts you depends on many factors. What are those factors? Trust depends upon what type of person you are and what is your relationship with that person. Trust also depends on your behavior with that person in past.
The most important thing is to “Trust Yourself”. We should know whether we are capable of doing certain things or not. We are also sometimes confused whether our decisions are correct or not? So, first and foremost we should have trust in whatever step we take in our lives and move in a positive direction.
Next thing is to “trust your struggle”. Whatever has been our struggle we should be proud of the way we build ourselves with time. The struggle through which we have reached this place should always be appreciated. So, our struggle should always be trusted.
When you look for the dictionary meaning of trust, you will find “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something”. I believe that trust is a blind faith that we have in our parents, children, partner and friends until and unless the trust is broken.
It’s very easy to destroy something but it takes years to build something. Same goes with trust too. You cannot trust a person in first visit. When the relationship grows deep the trust builds. It takes years to build a trust but it can be shattered to pieces in seconds. One lie or one incidence can shaken the trust between two people. Therefore, a hard earned trust should never be broken.
I don’t know, whether you will trust a person again if he/she has broken your trust once. With me, it’s really tough. For me, it’s hard to rebuild the trust in a person.
Trust is an asset. It should be treasured, not broken. People who trust you, care for you and love you. Never break a trust.
I am so happy and overwhelmed to share with you all that I have been nominated for the “Sunshine Blogger Award“. When I first made this blog and followed some bloggers at WordPress I came across this “Sunshine Blogger Award”. At that time I wasn’t sure whether anyone will nominate me for this award or not and if some one did, when will that happen. But today, I am so glad to tell you all that VJ. SADHAK a friend of mine at WordPress and a motivational poetry writer has nominated me for this award so soon. I can’t express my feelings in words. Thank you VJ, thank you so much.
VJ writes poetry in Hindi and I feel connected with his poems. His thoughts are touching and you will feel the connection. He is attached to his spiritual roots and values. Since I have got to know about him as a blogger, I read each and every post of his and do comment. I am thankful to him, that he has given me the opportunity to answer few questions of his and to nominate other new fellow bloggers for this award.
My Answers to the Questions:
1. If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? Since my childhood I was fascinated to see the birds especially the sparrows. I found them to be free and independent. Birds can fly high up in the sky. They have a small life but they live freely. SO, I always wanted to be a free bird flying high up in the sky.
2. What was the first ever creative effort that you remember really being proud of? Whatever I write, I try to put all my efforts to make that writing a creative and interesting one. The first ever creative effort that I remember lately was making a cardboard house for my elder son. I had to put a lot of efforts and time to make that house.
3. If you could choose between true happiness, or a greater creative skills, what would you pick? Undoubtedly I will choose true happiness. Nothing can be better that happiness. I believe that if we are happy inside out, we can make this world a beautiful place to live. So, if I am happy I might have a great creative skill naturally.
4. Does politics have a place in the arts? Politics is every where. It is seen in the schools, universities, work places and not only in the making of a government. We always watch cartoons made on political leaders and on government policies and also in criticizing others. So definitely, politics does exist in the arts.
5. What gets you out of bed in the morning? Being mother of two toddlers, sending them to school at time is what makes me out of bed in the morning.
6. Where and how do you do most of your writing? Most of my writings are done directly on my laptop or ipad. For some posts that are related to science, it takes time for me to write. The posts that are just my thoughts are easier to write I think.
7. What famous work do you wish you had created? Till now, I don’t think I have created anything that is famous. I wish I would have created some technique to make everyone happy.
8. Is there anyone in the world that you actually hate? No, I don’t hate anyone.
9. Where is the furthest you have been from home? I am an Indian residing in the USA, so this is the furthest that I am living from my home.
10. Would you prefer to wake up early, or stay up late? Frankly speaking, I am a late night person. When I was a student, I used to do late night studies as it was very hard for me to wake up early in the morning. But these days, I have to wake up early in the morning due to my kids. I still prefer staying up late at night.
11. If you could give a new writer who was setting up a blog one piece of advice, what would it be? I would advice him to be true to his heart and believe in his writing. That’s it.

This post will be the 101st one. I am so happy to achieve this. This 3 and a half months of blogging has been very exciting for me. I learned how to write in a friendly tone. I learned many blogging techniques from fellow bloggers.
I write at least 3 posts in a week but try to write 5 posts in a week. Some of my posts are educational while others are related to lifestyle. Yet other posts are just informational like this one, informing my growth as a blogger.
This is just a beginning. I am looking forward to reach new heights and become a successful blogger in coming years.
