Chia seeds are in trend these days. Anyone looking for weight loss must have heard about these amazing seeds. Chia seeds are widely available in local market and online stores throughout the world.

Chia plant, scientifically known as Salvia hispanica, is native to Mexico and Central America. Chia seeds and chia oil from this plant are being used by humans as food from thousands of years. Chia seeds are smooth and shiny varying from from white to grey and black in color.

Many people also make chia seed powder and add them in other flour to make multigrain flour. Only 1-2 teaspoons of chia seeds should be used daily as it is high in fiber and our body cannot digest too much fiber.

As chia seeds are rich in fiber, these might lead to constipation if fluid intake is not increased. Thus, it is always advised to drink plenty of water when you consume chia seeds.
